The new range of standard steam locomotives introduced in 1951 represented the ultimate development of the steam locomotive in Great Britain. In all 12 standard classes were planned to meet the whole of the traffic requirements of BR, but there is little doubt about the most successful of the Standard classes. This book presents a record of these engines with line drawings and 241 photographs in a landscape layout of when the locomotives were new and in service.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The dust jacket is on good condition – the original price has been clipped off the corner of the dust jacket. The spine is undamaged and the book generally looks new.
