The Complete Story of Steam DVD and Book Set (second hand)

Second hand but appears never to have been used, this gift box contains a DVD and book about The Complete Story of Steam. The DVD uses a blend of archive footage and contemporary action including flickering images of Locomotion (presumably in 1925). It also covers freight and tank engines to narrow gauge and express passenger trains. Running time approx. 110 mins. The DVD has been checked and is in working order with no marks or scratches.

The accompanying book by Clive Groome called British Steam, a Regional History, is beautifully illustrated and written and reveals the history of Britain’s iron road. Each region and Scotland and Wales are included in this trip through Britain’s railway heritage and includes the engineers who built them and the locomotives. This is followed by a look at the region’s preserved railways. Hardback. 146pp. Still in mint condition.

The box set is in excellent condition but has a small tear in one corner (see photo).
